The temperature here in the mountains has been hovering around a chilly 80 degrees the past few days, and I’ve got the 726-page September Vogue sitting here on the table beside me, which means my mind is on one thing only: fall fashion. I don’t necessarily have $128 lying around to spend on a sweater right now (and if I had money to burn, I’d be getting these sunglasses), but if I catch this Anthropologie Dog Trot cardigan on sale, I might snatch it up.

Oh, haiiiiii… I like you: fun salt and pepper shakers from Jonathan Adler with save-worthy packaging.
A tip from the Jonathan Adler site: “Place a set in front of each of your guests to make your tabletop playful.” Umm… at fifty bucks a pop? I’m thinking noooo… but one set might look great on my dining room table.
Fetch them from jonathanadler.com (search “dog” for all kinds of goodies).

Sew Fetching is a cute-as-a-button Etsy shop featuring lovely handmade dog, cat, and ferret collars (yes, ferret!). Recently shop owner Samantha has listed some truly fetching key fobs modeled after her preshy collar designs. I looooove them. That hardware is snazzy, no?
Aaaand I’m excited to say that Sew Fetching is also offering 10% off to phetched readers on everything in the shop! So that means you can go getyerself a matching collar/keyfob set for yourself and your pup at a whopping 10% off! Just enter code phetched in the notes to seller when you order, and you’ll get your refund via PayPal. Awesome!
(Please note: phetched.com discourages trusting your pup with your car keys. EVER.)

Why do I love things like this?
I’m not sure. But it definitely comes from the same part of my psyche that’s fascinated by those little Japanese erasers that look like little tiny milkshakes, cheeseburgers, telephones, and x-ray machines. I used to hide it in college when I was listening to a lot of Bob Dylan and reading Adrienne Rich and Carson McCullers, but dangit, I’m not denying it anymore — I love colorful, cute stuff, and I need it in my life.
Tokidoki’s Cactus Pups each stand one inch tall and are accompanied by a teeny tiny accessory. Sold in a blind box from Pop Deluxe.
(And thanks to reader Lynn for turning me on to Pop Deluxe, which is full of all things colorful and cute.)

Alfie & Rex is a neat little Etsy shop featuring the photo silkscreen designs of Brooklyn’s Lisa Futterman. Her shop features doggie designs on dry goods ranging from shirts (both human and canine) to totes to pillows and patches.
Lisa currently has silkscreen designs for around 50 dog breeds, meaning she could wear a different dog, like, almost every Monday. You know, if she wanted to.

I jot notes to myself incessantly. I’d like to think it’s all the makings of the Great American Novel, but let’s not kid ourselves here.
Anyway, Pulitzer or not, I want this sweet little screenprinted notebook from Poketo. (Looks kinda like the phetched dog, no?)
It’s got a sewn-in bookmark and it’s super cheap at Buy Olympia.

Y’all know Marc Tetro’s illustrations, right? Well, he’s recently introduced these awesome little 3D doggie cut-outs, and he sent us a handful of them to give away here on phetched! Awesome. Now you can have a little doggie on your desk, or on your bookshelf, or on your dashboard, or wherever you might need a miniature little doggie in your life.
The cut-outs stand about 5-6 inches tall, come flat-packed and are super easy to assemble. You can see them all here.
Oh, hai – how adorable is this little guy? Answer: very.
We’ll have 3 winners for this giveaway, with each winner receiving two different cut-outs (pug, black lab, dachshund, boxer, Boston terrier, schnauzer, and Westie).
There are two ways to enter the giveaway:
1- Comment on this post (and mention your cut-out preference/s, if applicable).
2- Tweet the following: Hey, dog people! Win fun new Marc Tetro dog cut-outs from @phetched here: http://bit.ly/au19c1
You can enter up to two times (a comment and/or a tweet). The contest ends Sunday, June 20th, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, whereupon 3 winners will be randomly drawn! (I’ll try my best to meet the winners’ requests for particular dogs, but I can’t promise anything, ’cause I only have one of each.)

It doesn’t take much to make me happy… a good book, a tasty beer, a bouquet of fresh flowers, a sunny day. I can honestly say I can take pleasure in the small things, even – to steal a phrase from artist Ed van der Hoek’s Etsy profile – “like dogs in cars and other silly stuff.”
Ed van der Hoek, the talent behind Edart, is an illustrator and painter from the Netherlands. His work is colorful and whimsical, two things that make me happy.
Yes, that’s a dalmatian driving a Citroën DS convertible. Nothing not to like here, people.
See more and order postcards and giclee prints in van der Hoek’s Etsy shop.
