Update: This giveaway is closed. Congratulations to our winner, Mindy M!

I’m not much of a crafty person. Oh, I’m not completely inept, and I try my hand here and there, but my Martha urges come only in fits and starts. What I lack in crafty talent or drive, though, Christina E. of Woofs & Whiskers has in spades: she designs and creates by hand awesome dog clothing, collars, accessories, toys, and even treats.

Christina is also quite passionate about fostering and rescue, too, and she started Woofs & Whiskers to help fund vet bills for many of the unadoptable dogs and cats she’s taken in (and also donates many items she creates to rescue organizations). So not only is she super-talented, but she uses her powers for good, to help needy pups and cats — a veritable needle-and-thread-wielding super hero!

Stop by Christina’s shop to see all her handmade goodies (including my favorite, the harness dresses). (If you order by email and mention this post, you’ll get 15% off an order of $30 or more. Awesome!)

And to help get y’all in the spirit of Halloween, Woofs & Whiskers is giving away a sweet handmade gift to a lucky phetched reader! To enter to win, all you have to do is comment on this post and tell us which of the two prize choices you’d like to win:

1. a custom-made Halloween-themed bow tie and collar (sized to fit your pooch), or

2. two handmade braided fleece dog toys (great for cleaning teeth!)

How cute, right?

Entries will be accepted through 10:00 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday, October 24th, and a random-drawing winner will be chosen at that time so that the lucky winner will receive his/her prize in time for Halloween. (Please leave your correct email when commenting so we can contact you if you win. Email addresses will not be published.)

One entry per email address, please, and U.S. and Canada shipping addresses only. For an extra chance to win, tweet about this contest (including a link to this post) and post a link to your tweet in a SEPARATE comment field below. (You may tweet about this contest as many times as you like, but only ONE extra entry will count per person.)

Collars, collars, collars… mon Dieu, how I love beautiful collars.

Alas, why must there be so many beautiful collars?

Allow me to introduce to you to my latest objets de désir: handmade collars from The Mod Dog.

moddog1

The Mod Dog offers martingale and traditional buckle-style collars in some of the most unique and squeal-worthy patterns I’ve seen (many made with ribbon imported from Europe). Each piece is made custom to your dog’s measurements, and many styles have matching leashes available. The bonus? There are deux: The Mod Dog offers a warranty on repairs and hardware (excluding, ahem, “user error,” of course), and 10% of every sale goes to local rescue groups, such as the Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue.

But wait, there’s more! (Seriously?) Right now The Mod Dog shop is offering 10% off for phetched readers! Que magnifique! To receive your 10% off, all you have to do is include a note to The Mod Dog at checkout that you’re a phetched.com reader (when specifying your collar size and color choices).

I think I’m going to use my 10% off to order one of these for Dottie. But, sacré bleu, which one?

Y’all know how much I love Molly Mutt doggie duvets, right? If not, you can count the ways here. Molly Mutt dog bed duvet covers are simply one of the. most. awesome. dog products out there: durable, washable dog bed covers in brilliantly hip fabrics that help keep old dog beds, sheets, blankets, towels and clothes out of landfills.

Molly Mutt, I heart you.

My dogs have Molly Mutt duvet covers on their beds, and I absolutely love them, but now I want to buy totally new ones… ’cause Molly Mutt has just released THREE all-new, all-awesome patterns, TWO new DIY kits, and… *drum roll followed by hushed, expectant silence*… ROUND duvet covers!

mollymuttfall1

And to celebrate the new releases, Molly Mutt is offering phetched readers 10% off your entire order at Molly Mutt’s web site through November 15th! Sa-weet!

The new fall patterns are Title Track (top), Big City Life, and Mr. Roboto* (below). I seriously can’t figure out which one I like best. I mean, I don’t need three more duvet covers… right? Right?

*Mr. Roboto launches in a week, while Title Track and Big City Life are available now. Why must you make this so HARD, Molly Mutt? It’s okay. It’s okay. I still heart you.
