Despite my love of writing, I’m a horrible at journaling. I know, as a writing exercise, I should do it — but only when being forced into it by the occasional college professor, and then with much wailing and gnashing of teeth, have I ever been able to keep up with it regularly. I do constantly and compulsively jot notes to myself, though, so I scampered over to Etsy this weekend to see what kind of handmade journals and notebooks I could find.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Left to right by row, from top:
Handprinted pug moleskine from Sarah Waterhouse
Swedish dog little blank notebook from macey mack design & illustration
Little Blue Dog mini journal from FuzzyMug
Refillable recycled notepad from Rags + Bones
The Dog Says notebook from Teal Stripes
Pointer eco spiral notebook from This Is It! Creations
Be sure to browse each shop – several of them offer a variety of breeds and breed types!

I’ve been thinking about journaling my 40th year. I, too, am terrible at journaling, but I told myself just one year wouldn’t be bad, and perhaps I’ll learn something about myself in the process. Getting to look at a cute doggy each time I write might inspire something magical! I love the puggy journals, but I’m really oohing and aahing at the FuzzyMug journal. Thanks for these adorable finds.

I think it’s more of a common thing to want to journal but not actually do it, or to start and then completely forget about it within a week. I’m of the latter group, though one time I journaled everyday for an entire summer. Also, journal, such a weird word.
I love the pug moleskines! They are adoro.

If those don’t inspire you to write, I don’t know what would
I used to be big on writing in a journal- I’ve moved over to blogging instead. Clearly I don’t spill everything I would in a journal in my blog, but there is something about working through an idea, any idea, with written words that is cathartic.
