Every year from the time we buy the Halloween candy (for the trick-or-treaters, of course) till just after New Year’s we run a harrowing gauntlet of temptation and gluttony, feasting on candy corn and canes, glorious baked goods, turkey and ham, potatoes prepared in various forms and fashions. Since when did snickerdoodles come to signify holiday cheer? I don’t know, but I like it.
