December 8, 2009All the Mountain Dogs, Raise Your Paws

So, we moved to Asheville this past weekend, so Mingus and Dottie are now officially mountain dogs. Thus, they need mountain gear.

How about Mountain Dog leashes, made from repurposed climbing rope? Umm, hello? These are AWESOME.

Why do Ming and Dot need these leashes? Here’s a concise but informative list:

1. They’re earth-friendly — handmade from recycled, sustainable products.

2. They’re soft and stretchy.

3. They’re durable, and they come with a lifetime warranty.

And if that’s not enough, Mountain Dog is based right here in God’s Country (North Carolina).

Sold.

You can order Mountain Dog leashes directly from their web site (currently offering free shipping for U.S. orders), or they may be available at a store near you.

Hope to hear about some dog-friendly places in Asheville when y’all get settled! My husband + I got married there 2 years ago and return at least 2-3 times a year – would love to bring our pups Rosey (chow/pit) and Ramble (Boston Terrier) with us some day. Heard about Barkwells (http://barkwells.com/) in the region and want to try it someday.

From prior visits, I know that a lot of downtown is super-duper dog-friendly… I’m hoping to get to sniff out some doggy boutiques and things this weekend. Already I’ve found out the hardware store just up the road is dog-friendly! :D And you MUST MUST MUST plan a trip to Barkwells… it’s great. Here are some photos from our most recent stay there: http://phetched.com/?p=2993
