August 15, 2009What Goes Up Must Come Down

Remember this little guy? I miss this little guy.

Another classic:

Pets.com, despite its hilarious and popular advertising campaign, went bust less than 2 years after it began operations, one of the notable failures of the dot-com bust, proving that, indeed, what goes up must come down.

Interestingly, the pets.com domain is now owned by PetSmart.

Happy Saturday!

(If you’re in the Triangle, NC area, don’t forget that Untethered premieres tonight at Manbites Dog Theater in Durham!)

LOL! I don’t remember those commercials. Guess that’s what happens when you dvr everything and fast forward through them.

That’s definitely what I do now, Wendy! These commercials were from the late ’90s, back before DVR, when we were forced to watch commercials. :D

Not positive, but I think that Michael Ian Black was the voice of the Pets.com sock puppet. Classic commercials. I miss those ads.

Oh, wow — if Michael Ian Black does the puppet’s voice, that makes me like the commercials even more. :D
